Exclusive Wedding Open Day – Sunday 15th March 2020
Future bridal partners are being invited to wing their way to moated Crow’s Hall, high above the historic town of Debenham on Sunday 15th March 2020. Please do come along for an exclusive viewing of one of Suffolk’s most stunningly secret and totally unspoilt locations for wedding celebrations and a chance to be inspired by a special selection of local suppliers.
Grade II* listed Crow’s Hall – probably Suffolk’s most charmingly ‘homely’ stately home – is one of England’s gentlest and most versatile historic venues for special celebrations. It has a wonderfully authentic Tudor barn (reputedly Suffolk’s longest!) and an island of delightful garden ‘rooms’. Only a mile from Debenham yet surrounded by paddocks and Deben valley panoramas, Crow’s Hall is shared on just a handful of occasions each year for happy couples to make entirely their own.
Experience our Tudor Barn lit up for an occasion
“It’s a rare opportunity to see our amazing barn lit up creatively inside,“ says Crow’s Hall owner and local lady-farmer, Miss Caroline Spurrier.
“The space is stunning and so hugely versatile. One of our lighting partners will be on hand to demonstrate lighting effects and also give advice on entertainment options which can add even more to the already significant ‘wow’ factor of such an authentic and inspiring space.”
”Together with the moated gardens and grounds which are ideal for glamping, it simply lends itself to highly individual wedding celebrations. “
Why not visit beautiful Debenham Church too?
Crow’s Hall will also be inviting interested couples to view Debenham’s impressive church – St Mary Magdalene located in the centre of the historic market town.
The oldest building in Debenham, its chancel dates to the 13th century and beautiful arcaded nave was built between 1400 and 1540. It is particularly famous for its late 14th century ‘Galilee’ porch which has two ‘rooms’ before reaching the doors into the nave. The oak, single hammerbeam roof makes the space feel even more majestic.
Crow’s Hall will also be inviting interested couples to view Debenham’s impressive church: “Many couples wish to marry in St Mary Magdalene – it’s all about choice and one of the reasons why we’ve not pursued hosting wedding ceremonies at Crow’s Hall. Those who choose the church love the connection between the two places as Sir Charles Framlingham, who built Crow’s Hall in the 1500s, has an impressive tomb there.”
Be inspired by trusted, local suppliers
Inside the Hall, there will be the chance to meet a small selection of local suppliers including florists, caterers, bridalwear and lighting specialists. “We are really blessed with many small businesses and talented individuals locally who can make such a big contribution to creating highly personalised weddings,“ says Miss Spurrier.
“We love to showcase what is on offer here in Mid-Suffolk, and to prove to couples who may live locally or come from much further afield, that there are fantastic suppliers who will always go that extra mile – without having to travel any extra miles at all!”
